ChaosForge 2010, post-mortem, I'm not dead... yet

30 December 2010

This is the ghost of ChaosForge’s past writing, and take heed, for it’s a not a bright story indeed. It’s sad to write it, but 2010 wasn’t exactly the year of the ‘Forge. While we definitively were up to a good start, various personal reasons slowed development practically to a halt. However recently I have picked up the torch once again, and for the traditional next post about the next year, I’ll have some goodies to share… However now, lets take a look at things that happened this year…

Night City - a 1997 roguelike project

10 May 2010

I’ve been organizing folders on my HD, and ventured into the cellar storeroom of the ChaosForge — where abandoned roguelike projects long forgotten lie. Follow ChaosForge on Twitter!

22 March 2010

I’ve recently set up two Twitter accounts and it seems I’m quite fond of the medium.

ChaosForge @ Twitter (chaosforge_org)

Will be low traffic and will contain important chaosforge related news. Also some intermediate news about an upcoming release might be posted there (and only there!). The feed is also presented on the main site. Will not be used for discussion, just for announcements.

Kornel Kisielewicz @ Twitter (epyoncf)

This will be a more high-traffic account, with details on what I currently work on (and probably the #1 source for the latest happenings). This is my personal account, so feel free to @me through it. A feed from it is posted on the blog. Any ideas, announcements or updates that are too small (or I have too little time) to be made into a blog post will be posted to Twitter.

Feel free to follow :).

While at it, without any particular reason I decided to bring the AliensRL codebase up to date also. After doing the basic refactoring needed, I played a few test games, and thought “Damn, this is quite playable… If only it had this and this…”. And so…
